Bristol is a great city for students because of its compact size and great transport links. The city straddles the River Avon in the southwest of England with a prosperous maritime history.
Three universities in Bristol include:
- University Centre WISE (West of England Institute of Specialist Education). UCWISE provides specialist, vocational higher and adult education and is part of the South Gloucestershire and Stroud College Group. It provides high-quality, innovative, accessible education and training in a friendly culture of mutual respect and support.
- University of Bristol. The University of Bristol is one of the UK’s top research universities, and an outstanding teaching and research institution. Founded in 1876, it employs more than 4,500 staff! Students come to study from a full range of courses including arts, life sciences, health sciences, engineering and social sciences and law. University of Bristol has around 22,000 students. It is ranked 10th in th UK and 62nd best university in the world (source).
- Bath Spa University. Bath Spa Uni provides foundation and undergraduate degrees as well as postgraduate study and research and teacher training (PGCE). They really do have something for everyone including the Bath Spa Students’ Union (SU) which has over 70 societies, from the Baking Society, Doctor Who Society and Dungeons and Dragons Society!
